Our Major Efforts

Directed Energy Weapons

Kord provides proven experience in High Energy Laser (HEL) weapon systems engineering and integration, highlighted by our prime contract to integrate and deliver a laser weapon system prototype on a Stryker combat vehicle. Designed to counter or defeat Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) threats on the battlefield, Kord is partnering with industry-leading technology developers and government partners to bring this new capability to the tactical edge of the battlefield.

Missile Systems

Kord provides proven experience in missile technologies, including propulsion, systems engineering, advanced materials, design and analysis for DoD services and agencies. Kord was recently awarded a prime contract to develop a next-generation land-based anti-ship missile prototype as part of the Army’s support of the emerging Multi-Domain Battle doctrine. Our engineers also have extensive modeling/simulation and software development experience in support of weapon systems.

Missile Defense

Kord supports Mission Combatant Commanders providing a capability to engage and destroy short- to intermediate-range ballistic missile threats, and long-range ballistic missile threats in battle space to protect the U.S. homeland. Kord leads Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework activities including continuous monitoring with a proven success record for obtaining authorizations ahead of schedule. We provide subject matter expertise to improve the reliability, maintainability and availability of missile defense systems through Parts, Materials and Process program execution integrated with Supply Chain Risk Management and Obsolescence to support the development of robust and secure system architectures. Kord provides proven expertise in Guidance Navigation and Control, Kill Vehicles, and Mission Assurance. Our Operations and Sustainment leadership maintains 24/7 operations and availability for systems deployed across the U.S. for the Warfighter as demonstrated through system ground and flight testing.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Kord has significant experience, capabilities and tools for advanced hypersonic and rotary wing computational fluid dynamics (CFD). We perform analysis including high-fidelity missile flow gridding for aerodynamic simulations and experiments and conduct simulation using FloRes and FLUENT codes that reside in-house at Kord. We support the Army and other DoD services for Conjugate Heat Transfer simulation code development. As part of our SBIR Phase 2 effort, we are incorporating AVC and LES to enhance the accuracy of simulations for naval helicopter landings.

Where We Are Going

As Multi-Domain Battle concepts develop, Kord synchronizes the evolution of technology, doctrine and battlefield lessons-learned to support current and future defense technology needs. For strategic defense, Kord is committed to helping develop robust homeland defense kill vehicles to protect critical assets around the world. The bottom line: we support the current fight while preparing for the next.
