Kord Recognized as MSFC’s Small Business Subcontractor of the Year

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama, hosted the 26^th Marshall Small Business Alliance Meeting on September 20, 2018, where hundreds of representatives of large and small business prime contractors, subcontractors and NASA organizations from across the country were in attendance.  At the September meeting, Marshall presented its annual Industry and Advocate Awards for fiscal year 2018. These awards identify individuals, prime contract firms and subcontractors whose contributions enabled Marshall to successfully execute NASA’s mission. This year Kord Technologies, Inc. was announced as the 2018 NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Small Business Subcontractor of the Year for our support to The Boeing Company on NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage and Upper Stage Element.

Allen Beard Young, Kord’s CEO, stated that “we are honored to receive the Small Business Subcontractor of the Year award and proud to contribute to the development of the most powerful rocket ever built for our Nation.”

This is the second time Kord has been recognized by MFSC. In 2012 Kord was presented a Small Subcontractor Excellence Award for our support to The Boeing Company on the SLS Core Stage Element. Ms. Young credited Kord’s recognition this year and in 2012 to the outstanding and conscientious work by our employees and the dedicated leadership of Donna Brown. She noted that Kord is also excited about the opportunity to represent MSFC as a candidate for this year’s NASA agency-level Small Business Subcontractor of the Year.
